Most silicone products are produced in China. The main reason is that production can take place there in an efficient and safe manner. In recent years, significant investments have been made in technology for the development of high-quality food grade silicones. Griply is produced in a factory in Shenzhen that meets the strictest European requirements with regard to food safety, including, for example, the LFGB. Ultimately, our products are shipped to Europe by rail.

All of our products consist of 100% platinum silicone. In other words, the healthy alternative to plastic. Griply is food grade and can be safely used for both cold and hot drinks. They are of the highest quality and contain no BPA, BPS, lead, latex or phthalates.

Our products are not biodegradable, which is actually not so bad. Where plastic material can decompose, they often emit microplastic pollution that is harmful to our animals in both nature and the oceans. So while silicone won’t decompose, it won’t get caught in the bellies of birds and sea creatures either!

Griply products are made of 100% food grade silicone. An important raw material that is processed in it is silica, a natural substance that occurs in sand. Because sand is the second most abundant element in the Earth’s crust, it’s a good starting point for a sustainable material. The silica is then processed with oxygen (to form the element silicon (Si)), hydrogen and carbon to create a non-toxic polymer. Plastic, on the other hand, is made from crude oil, a non-renewable resource, and contains harmful toxins such as bisphenol A (BPA) and bisphenol S (BPS).

Unlike plastic, silicone does not cause any environmental damage, at least not as much as plastic. It also doesn’t cause much damage in landfills.

It is always advisable to explore eco-friendly ways to reduce your carbon footprint. To protect wildlife and ocean life, don’t just throw our products away. Yes, silicone is definitely safer than plastic. You better choose food grade silicone over plastic because silicone is more durable and environmentally friendly compared to plastic. Silicone also has a higher heat tolerance and does not contain BPA like some plastics.

Griply is dishwasher safe! Just place them upside down in your dishwasher, that’s it. By the way, you don’t have to put them in the dishwasher after every use. You can also keep them clean with just some water and soapy water.
