Reduction of CO2 emissions
To reduce the CO2 emissions from our transportation and logistics activities, we have been-
gene, GLS Netherlands is betting on various environmental-saving solutions. Using the Lean & Green program, the CO2 performance can be calculated in detail which provides insight into the potential for improvement. For optimi-sation, GLS is taking the following concrete measures, among others:

Emission-free delivery
GLS is currently deploying electric vehicles in several Dutch inner cities for emission-free parcel delivery. The goal is to expand to the 20 largest inner cities in the Netherlands as soon as possible. Fuel-saving applications such as the use of LHV combinations and tire-filling devices are also used, as well as special driver training to drive more economically. -
Sustainable depots
GLS builds environmentally friendly at new depots and expansions. Whenever possible, GLS uses rainwater harvesting systems, solar panels, recyclable building materials and heat pump heating. All depots are committed to optimal waste disposal, efficient lighting and the use of green energy.
Offsetting CO2 emissions
Not all carbon emissions can be avoided. GLS therefore offsets its entire emissions, through the Climate Neutral Group, largely with projects that carry Gold Standard certification. To meet such certification, local parties are involved in these projects and the projects make a clear sustainable contribution to the local com-munity. For its CO2 offset, GLS additionally supports sustainable forest projects in the Netherlands through the Trees For All foundation.

Do I have to pay import duties?
You do not have to pay import duties. All orders are made in and shipped from the Netherlands by Griply. Import duties apply only to orders to be delivered outside the EU.
